Ukraine has reached pre-war levels of agricultural exports.
In 2024, Ukraine achieved its pre-war volume of agrarian exports, totaling $24.5B or 59% of total exports, said Minister of Agricultural Policy Vitaly Koval.
“This is the second historical record (in 2021, the corresponding amount was $27.7B),” the report says.
According to the ministry, Ukraine exported 78.3 million tons of agricultural products last year. The largest export share falls on sunflower oil – 21%, with six million tons of it exported for $5.1B. Corn is in second place with 21%, 29.6 million tons exported for $5B. Wheat is in third place with 15%, 20.6 million tons for $3.7B.
At the same time, Ukrainian sugar producers set a record for sugar exports in 2024, sending 746,300 tons to foreign markets for $419M. This is the highest sugar export figure since 1997 when the National Association of Sugar Producers, Ukrtsukor, was established. 40% of exports in 2024 were directed to EU countries and 60% to the global market, where the buyers of Ukrainian sugar were the countries of the Middle East, North Africa, and North Macedonia.
