Ukraine has fulfilled more than 50% of the IMF’s requirements and received $10.2B from the IMF since the beginning of the war.

As Minister of Finance, Serhiy Marchenko noted: “The Government of Ukraine, the National Bank of Ukraine, and other authorities have so far implemented 23 structural beacons out of 37 stipulated by the IMF. Among them, 14 implemented beacons are related to the fiscal sector. Ukraine’s fulfillment of the conditions contributes to the preservation of its macro-financial stability and paves the way for the country’s European integration. The fifth review of the program is ahead, and the Ukrainian side, in cooperation with the IMF, is doing everything possible to pass it successfully”.

The IMF alone has provided $10.2B in budget assistance since February 24, 2022. This is the third largest source of external financing after the EU and the US.

In the current year, the need for international support reaches $38B. Ukrainian allies and partners have already provided appropriate assurances that they will help Ukraine meet its budget needs for 2024 and are currently working on identifying funds for 2025.
