Ukraine has expanded its drone army by adding another drone model.
Ukraine’s military has added another drone model to its arsenal, said defense minister Oleksiy Reznikov. He announced on Wednesday that the Ukrainian military is adopting a new model of First Person View (FPV) drones as Kyiv increasingly deploys UAVs on the front lines.
The new FPV drone, like many others, is manufactured in Ukraine but comprises mainly foreign components. The minister added that the next step is to produce major drone components in Ukraine and achieve diversification to guarantee the stable, independent supply of these munitions in any circumstance.
According to drone producer Valeriy Borovyk, the new combat drone is designed to attack Russian positions and valuable military equipment. He added that his team developed a drone for use in combination with other surveillance drones they also build.
The new drone has a range of 40 kilometers and can carry a warhead of two to three kilograms. The tactical advantages of FPV drones are being invisible when approaching the target, difficult to spot, and the remote-controlled aircraft are also nearly impossible to hear.
