Ukraine has emerged as the world’s leading producer of FPV drones, manufacturing over 2.2 million UAVs annually, with the domestic defense industry capable of producing up to 10 million units.

During the Ukrainian Weapons 2024 briefing, Defense Ministry officials reported on the defense-industrial base’s rapid expansion in order to meet modern warfare’s demands.
The CEO of Tencore LLC, a company that develops UAVs for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, remarked: “We have already begun securing investments and contracts worth $35B. This is a goal we must achieve.”
He also commented that Ukrainian production extends beyond drones, highlighting increased manufacturing of missiles, electronic warfare systems, and ground robotic platforms. More than 50% of the materials used in these systems are supplied by Ukrainian firms. Furthermore, there is now a company producing UAVs with 100% domestically sourced components.
As pointed out by Minister of Strategic Industry Herman Smetanin, Ukrainian manufacturers can produce up to 10 million FPV drones per year with continual improvement in production localization.
