Ukraine has collected 78.7 million tons of new harvest and increased its agricultural exports to the EU by 11%.
As of the third week of December, farmers in all regions of Ukraine have threshed 78.7 million tons of grain and oil crops: 57.86 million tons and 20.76 million, respectively. Compared to data from the same date a year ago, the total harvest is higher by 23.6%, particularly grain by 24.2% and oil by 22.1%. However, it is worth considering that this year, corn has been harvested from 88% of the total sown area, while a year ago, it was only from 75%.
Meanwhile, according to the European Commission’s report on EU agricultural trade, Ukraine increased agricultural exports to the EU from January to September by 11% (up to €8.75B) compared to the same period last year. It remained in third place among the largest suppliers of agricultural products to the EU after Brazil and the UK.
During the same period, Ukraine imported €2.505B worth of farm products from the EU (+19% over 2022).
