On January 1, a Ukrainian law came into force banning Russian vessels from accessing Ukraine’s inland waters. According to the Ukrainian Parliament, access to the inland waters of Ukraine is prohibited to ships flying the flag of the aggressor state, which carry passengers and cargo between river ports. In addition, coasting travel of Russian-flagged vessels is also prohibited. According to the document, the country’s inland waters include rivers like the Dniester, Danube, and Dnieper.
