Before the start of the full-scale war the World Bank mobilized $34B to support Ukraine, over $22B of which Kyiv has already received. This was discussed during a working visit to Washington by the Minister of Finance of Ukraine, Serhiy Marchenko.
“I am sincerely grateful to the World Bank Group for the significant financial assistance for Ukraine since the first days of the Russian Federation’s full-scale war,” Marchenko said during a meeting with the World Bank’s Managing Director for Operations, Anna Bjerde, and the World Bank’s Vice President for Europe and Central Asia, Antonella Bassani.
