Ukraine expects to receive a positive assessment from the European Commission and start pre-accession negotiations on EU membership.

Ukraine is ready to do all the necessary work to approach the start of pre-accession negotiations. The country is working on implementing all EU recommendations that are necessary to receive a positive assessment from the European Commission by the end of the year, the government’s press service reported. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, during the 8th plenary session of the Ukraine-EU Association Council, noted that Ukraine is already working on implementing visa-free customs processes, industrial and transport alignment, and further integration into the EU’s energy, digital, roaming, and payment spaces.
