Ukraine could have earned over $2B from arms exports last year.

Ukrainian gunmakers are prepared to export surplus products to partner countries, but they need permission from the state, said Kateryna Mykhalko, executive director of the Technological Forces of Ukraine, at a forum dedicated to the export of Ukrainian weapons. According to her, last year alone Ukraine could have earned over $2B through exports. Thus, there is a necessity to establish controlled arms exports.
Mykhalko added that Russia is stimulating the UAV industry and expanding its international cooperation. During the war, the Russians have signed export agreements for military equipment worth $55B. Hence, the expert emphasized that there is a risk that the aggressor may occupy a niche that belongs to Ukraine.
Therefore, gunmakers appealed to Ukraine’s president to lift the ban on controlled arms exports.
At the Rearmament Europe – Readiness 2030 symposium in Paris, Ukraine presented production projects for drones, ammunition, missiles, and electronic warfare equipment. These projects will be considered for funding under the EU’s Security Action for Europe initiative, which has a budget of €150B.
