Ukraine continues its offensive in the Kursk region, has already created its first military command post, and controls 82 settlements,
said the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi. Syrskyi clarified that the search for and destruction of the enemy in Sudzha and three other Kursk region settlements has been completed.
“To maintain law and order and ensure the priority needs of the population in the controlled territories, a military commandant’s office has been created, and its head has been appointed,” said the Commander-in-Chief.
On August 15, Ukrainian troops advanced in different directions by 0.5-1.5 km and repelled three enemy attacks. Since the beginning of the operation in the Kursk region, Ukraine’s military has advanced 35 km.
“So far, Ukraine has taken over 1,150 square kilometers of Russian territory, and 82 settlements have been taken under control. The situation is under control,” added Syrskyi.
