Ukraine asks the EU to monitor the Polish border and prepare to evacuate drivers.
As Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Serhii Derkach said, Ukraine has officially asked its European colleagues to monitor the situation in front of checkpoints. Are dangerous goods allowed through, how does humanitarian aid cross the border, and most importantly, what conditions have the drivers been in for more than two weeks? In addition, Ukraine has started collecting data for the evacuation of its drivers.
Also, Ukraine offered Poland the possibility of opening at least an additional crossing point for the passage of empty cargo transport, Deputy Minister of Agricultural Policy Taras Vysotskyi said. According to him, this will speed up the movement of trucks in both directions, which will help the carriers of both countries to work more efficiently. He added that the tripartite negotiations, which include Poland, demonstrated that the vision of Ukraine and the European Commission coincides with the protest not meeting its stated goals.
As of November 25, four checkpoints are blocked, and the number of trucks in queues has increased to 11,000 in both directions.
