Ukraine and Sweden will become partners in the energy field and the green transition.


Ukraine and Sweden signed a memorandum of understanding on the establishment of a partnership on energy issues and the green transition in the field of nuclear energy. The memorandum’s purpose is to promote Ukraine and Europe’s energy security, emergency preparedness, and sustainable development of energy systems.
In addition, as part of strengthening the EU’s energy security Kyiv is discussing with the Netherlands the prospects for using Ukrainian gas storage facilities for the needs of European countries. The heads of the Ministries of Energy of Ukraine and the Netherlands also considered the issue of protecting energy and gas infrastructure facilities during the meeting.
In addition, government officials from Ukraine and Denmark considered the possibilities of deepening cooperation within the framework of the Ukrainian-Danish energy partnership, particularly with regard the restoration of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. Areas for deepening cooperation in the development of renewable energy in Ukraine, particularly wind generation, were also discussed.
