Ukraine and Slovakia increase gas import capacity.

The Ukrainian gas market has another opportunity to physically import gas necessary for the stable supply of the autumn-winter heating season and replenishment of strategically important gas reserves in Ukrainian gas storage facilities, said director of the Ukrainian Gas Transmission System Operator, Serhiy Makogon. The guaranteed capacity for physical import of natural gas from Europe will increase to 42 million cubic meters per day, an additional 56%, or 15 million cubic meters. He added that Ukrainian companies will be able to book the capacity of the new route at daily auctions starting in February.
