Ukraine and Russia will continue to transport fuel despite the fighting in the Kursk region.

The application for the transit of Russian gas through the territory of Ukraine on Tuesday increased by 7% compared to the nomination on August 12. The volume of the confirmed nomination through the Sudzha gas measuring station is 42.4 million cubic meters, which corresponds to traditional volumes.

At the same time, satellite images show that the Sudzha station in the Kursk region of Russia was destroyed. One of the administrative buildings, as well as one of the sites where measuring equipment is installed, was almost completely destroyed.

Despite this and further fighting in the Kursk region, Russia and Ukraine will continue to supply pipeline gas to Europe. Both parties have a financial incentive to continue. For Kyiv, gas transit will bring in much-needed funds, around $1B. In addition, Ukraine wants to be seen as a reliable European partner and hopes that traders will use its huge gas storages more actively.
