Ukraine and Russia both present evidence of energy truce violations to the US.

Ukraine has provided the US with confirmation of Russian strikes on energy infrastructure, which breaches the ceasefire agreement. President Zelenskyy notes that Ukraine has documented every violation and expects a reciprocal response.

Russia also sent the US, the UN, and the OSCE a “list of violations” concerning Ukraine’s breaches of the energy truce. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov claims that Russian troops are adhering to the moratorium established in the agreement between Trump and Putin on March 18.

However, the Kremlin has continued its extensive night-time shelling of Ukraine almost every night, prompting Zelenskyy to call for increased pressure on Russia. On April 2, the aggressor launched 74 drones over Ukraine, 14 of which targeted Kharkiv, resulting in hits and injuries among civilians. There were also strikes on energy facilities, including artillery attacks in the Sumy region and Nikopol, leaving nearly 4,000 households without electricity.

The Kremlin also reported an attack consisting of around 100 drones.

Additionally, the spokesperson for the Naval Forces of Ukraine, Dmytro Pletenchuk, noted the absence of an official ceasefire agreement between Ukraine and Russia in the Black Sea.
