Ukraine and Moldova will begin construction of a bridge across the Dniester River and to expand the railway infrastructure on the border with Poland.
The Cabinet of Ministers has decided to create a joint Ukrainian-Moldovan commission for the construction of a bridge across the Dniester River in the Yampil-Koseuts region, said Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.
“This will be a key link in the transport corridor between Kyiv and Chisinau,” he said.
The Prime Minister noted that the systematic refurbishing of checkpoints on the border with Moldova is underway with support from USAID and the EU. According to him, logistics in the western direction is another government priority.
“On the border with Poland, under the concluded security agreement, we will expand rail and road connections. In addition, another railway crossing point, Nyzhankovychi-Malhowice, will be opened,” the prime minister said.
