During a working visit to Canada, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and his Canadian counterpart Justin Trudeau approved the renewal of the Free Trade Agreement between the countries.
Ukrainian businesses will now be able to export products to Canada without tariffs, even if the components of these products originate from the EU, the European Free Trade Association, Britain, or Israel.
Moreover, this agreement encourages foreign businesses to set up production facilities in Ukraine.
The updated agreement also includes digital trade related to supporting small and medium-sized companies and strengthens indigenous peoples’ role in trade. Also, guarantees for investors and an investment protection system are assigned separately.
