Two new gas wells allow Ukraine to increase daily gas production by 300,000 cubic meters.

State gas producer Ukrgazvydobuvannya has launched two production wells in April at one of the largest fields in Ukraine. The two wells added more than 300,000 cubic meters of gas to the company’s daily output, Naftogaz reported.

The company noted that the field is over 50 years old, but by drilling new wells it was possible to stop declining production. Ukrgazvydobuvannya has started drilling 10 additional wells at the field.

The company also resumed field exploration to increase their explored gas reserves. It is planned to drill five new exploratory wells in the near future. Moreover, work has already begun on the first exploratory well.
