Labor leader Gordon Brown and Conservative John Major want to create a special tribunal to investigate Vladimir Putin’s actions in Ukraine. According to the BBC, the former British government leaders are among 140 scientists, lawyers, and politicians who signed a petition calling to create a legal system modeled on the Nuremberg Trials of Nazi war criminals after World War II. Among others, the petition has been signed by British Supreme Court ex-President Lady Hale, Professor of International Law Philip Sands, former Nuremberg War Tribunal prosecutor Benjamin Ferencz, and former President of the European Court of Human Rights Sir Nicholas Bratza.
