Trump’s patience with Putin is waning: The US considers new sanctions on Russia and the transfer of Patriot missile systems to Ukraine.

Rick Crawford, chair of the US House Intelligence Committee, stated that after a recent unsuccessful conversation President Trump’s patience with Vladimir Putin is nearly exhausted.
The US president remarked that Putin is always friendly during talks, but it is often insincere. As a result, Trump is contemplating sanctions and perhaps supplying more Patriot systems to Ukraine, aligning with his recent vow to support Kyiv against Russian aggression. The White House has instructed the Pentagon to develop options for additional weapons supplies, and discussions are ongoing with allies to provide more Patriot systems.
Despite this, Trump still hopes for a deal with Putin but is increasingly aware he might be being used. He is reluctant to allocate more resources to assist Kyiv and fears Ukraine’s defeat could harm US interests more than the 2021 Afghanistan withdrawal.
Meanwhile, the Kremlin dismissed Trump’s renewed aid to Ukraine, saying it will not help resolve the Russia-Ukraine conflict peacefully, though they remain hopeful for continued dialogue and the repair of damaged bilateral relations.
