Trump threatens Russia with secondary sanctions if Putin does not agree to a ceasefire.

During a meeting with reporters at the White House, US President Donald Trump stated that he does not rule out implementing secondary sanctions on countries that purchase Russian oil if Putin “does not do his job.” However, the head of the White House believes that the Kremlin leader will fulfill his part of the deal – see things through and ultimately agree to end the war.
“I want him to make a deal so that we stop the killing of Russian soldiers, Ukrainian soldiers, and other people. I do not want to impose secondary tariffs on his oil, but I think I would do that if I believed he was not doing his job,” the US president remarked.
Columnist Clyde Russell believes that Putin will indeed make significant concessions to Trump if he perceives these threats as credible. This is because it concerns the potential loss of the last two buyers of Russian oil – India and China. Soon, Russia, India, and China will seek to determine how serious Trump is in his threats.
Meanwhile, India is already searching for additional sources of oil in the Middle East, the North Sea, and the Mediterranean.
