Trump states that the framework for a peace agreement has already been established and that the US aims to finalize an agreement by April 20.

US President Donald Trump noted that the US, Ukraine, and Russia have seemingly outlined the preliminary conditions for an agreement to end the war. He also emphasized the importance of ongoing support for Ukraine. According to Trump, a ceasefire could be reached very soon.
“We are going to achieve a complete ceasefire soon, and then we will have an agreement. Negotiations about land distribution and other issues are currently in progress,” Trump said.
The White House still intends to finalize a ceasefire agreement in Ukraine by April 20. However, the timeline may shift due to “the significant differences between the positions of the two sides.” The US State Department also mentioned that Ukraine and Russia are “one step away from a complete ceasefire.”
State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce stated: “After that, we can begin discussing not just a week or six months of peace, but a lasting peace that the people of Ukraine, Russia, and the world can depend on.”
