Trump is upset with Putin and threatens sanctions on Russian oil.

President Donald Trump said he’s “pissed off” at Russian President Vladimir Putin and would consider “secondary tariffs” on Russian oil if a ceasefire with Ukraine cannot be reached, NBC News reported. Trump expressed that he was “very upset” about Putin’s recent remarks suggesting methods to establish new leadership in Ukraine and sideline President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, NBC reported, citing a phone interview with Trump on Sunday. New leadership in Ukraine implies “you’re not going to have a deal for a long time, right,” he stated.
“I was upset about it. But if a deal isn’t made, and if I believe it was Russia’s fault, I’m going to impose secondary sanctions on Russia,” Trump told NBC, indicating he meant “all oil coming out of Russia.”
He mentioned plans to speak to Putin this week. Trump added that if he can’t make “a deal on stopping the bloodshed in Ukraine, and if I believe it was Russia’s fault – which it might not be – but if I believe it was Russia’s fault, I am going to impose secondary tariffs on oil.”
