Trump is ready to lift restrictions on the supply of long-range weapons to Ukraine and continue sanctions in order to force Putin to negotiate.
Future US National Security Advisor Michael Waltz said that US President-elect Donald Trump is ready to lift restrictions on the supply of long-range weapons to Ukraine to force Putin to sit down at the negotiating table.
Waltz is also convinced that the US can impose energy sanctions against Russia to support Ukraine. In addition, the new administration will want to see “real stabilization of the front” and will therefore ask that the draft age be lowered from 25 to 18 years to solve the problem of insufficient human resources.
At the same time, Waltz added: “We would like to see a ceasefire any day now. That would be an incredible step for both sides and allow us to start working on some negotiations. Everyone knows that this must end diplomatically. I don’t think it’s realistic to say that we’re going to kick every Russian out of every piece of Ukrainian land, even Crimea. President Trump has recognized that reality, and I think it’s a big step forward for the whole world to recognize that reality.”
