Trump invites Musk and Ramaswamy to lead the newly created DOGE advisory commission and will appoint new heads for the Pentagon and CIA.
US President-elect Donald Trump announced that billionaire Elon Musk and former presidential candidate and pro-Russian businessman Vivek Ramaswamy will lead the new non-governmental Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Musk and Ramaswamy will work outside of government to provide advice and guidance to the White House and cooperate with the Office of Management and Budget to drive large-scale structural reform and create an entrepreneurial approach to government that has never been seen before.
“Businessmen will pave the way to eliminate government bureaucracy, reduce redundant regulation, reduce wasteful spending, and restructure federal agencies,” Trump added.
Musk once suggested he could find over $2T in savings, nearly a third of total annual government spending.
Also, Fox News Host and former National Guard officer Pete Hegseth will become the new US Secretary of Defense, and John Ratcliffe, the former head of National Intelligence, will be the director of the Central Intelligence Agency.
