Trump anticipates an agreement between Ukraine and Russia this week, but if not, threatens to withdraw from the peace negotiations.

US President Donald Trump is optimistic that Ukraine and Russia will finalize an agreement this week. Discussions on a ceasefire are scheduled in London, involving delegations from Ukraine, the EU, and the US. According to Trump and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, if it soon becomes apparent that ending the war in Ukraine is unattainable, the US may cease its efforts.
“We want to resolve this quickly. If one party complicates matters too much, we will simply walk away,” Trump stated.
Trump’s Special Envoy Keith Kellogg emphasized that the US is weary of Russia’s prolonged conflict with Ukraine and reiterated the US’ expectation for genuine progress in the peace process; otherwise, the US might exit the discussions.
Presently, frustration is mounting in the White House regarding Russia’s stubbornness in ending the war, and Trump has acknowledged that the talks have hit a stalemate.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry noted that Kyiv had accepted the US proposal for a full 30-day ceasefire on March 11, but Russia declined.
