To open up northern Moldova to Ukrainian trade and tourism

, a tender is underway for construction of what would be the second bridge on the 267 km Dniester River border between the two countries. Expected to cost $120 million, the bridge and seven kilometers of access roads are to be completed by the end of next year, according to the tender by the Vinnytsia highways department. The bridge, linking Yampil, Ukraine and Cosăuți, Moldova, will be midway on a 300 km north-south road that links Vinnytsia and Chisinau. Alexander Kubrakov, head of Ukravtodor, says the national highway agency is upgrading almost 40% of the 366 km road between Kyiv and Yampil.
