The Zakarpattia Region’s electricity generation is fully provided by its consumer and commercial green energy producers.
Zakarpattia administrator Viktor Mykyta said: “Now Zakarpattia is among the leaders in the country in terms of the ratio of the number of generating plants for the production of electricity from solar radiation in private households to the number of domestic consumers. As of March 1, 2024, private households have installed 4,836 generating units”.
The total generating capacity from private households in the region is currently 138 MW. During the peak hours in the summer months, this capacity covers up to 31% of the region’s total load.
At the same time, according to Mykyta, enterprises in Transcarpathia operate 65 generating units that produce electricity from solar panels with a total capacity of 244 MW. Thus, private households and enterprises in the region, which generate electricity from the sun, are able to fully meet their region’s needs.
