The world leader in container transportation returns to the ports of Odesa.
The Maersk Group has launched the first container service to the ports of Odesa after the start of full-scale war, The Loadstar writes. Through its cooperation with the Ukrainian feeder operator Iteris, the company uses the vessel to connect the port of Chornomorsk with the Romanian container terminal of Constanta.
“In April, Iteris and Maersk delivered empty containers for exporters and delivered full cargo containers to Constanta for transshipment,” said consulting company Informall BG.
It predicts that shipments will increase by 100% in the coming months as more shipping companies join the movement. Iteris and Maersk also cooperate in barge transport, transporting containers between other Ukrainian ports on the Danube, as well as in Reni and Constanta.
In addition, the Turkish shipping company Akkon launched a feeder service with its vessels in Chornomorsk and German Hapag-Lloyd and Swiss MSC have already announced the resumption of container transportation from Odesa ports.
