The World Bank’s fund has already collected $920M for Ukraine.
The Ukraine Relief, Recovery, Reconstruction and Reform Trust Fund (URTF) has already accumulated $920M and received new contributions from the governments of Iceland ($3.6M), Latvia (€2M), and the Netherlands (€60M). The WB clarified that Latvia is a new donor that has joined the URTF, and the Netherlands and Iceland had already contributed $95M and $3M, respectively. According to the World Bank, this demonstrates the partner’s increasing commitment to Ukraine’s restoration.
“These generous contributions will allow Ukraine to repair vital energy infrastructure, roads, bridges, housing, and schools and help Ukrainians rebuild their lives”, said WB regional director Arup Banerjee.
URTF is a multilateral donor fund that supports the World Bank’s emergency operations in Ukraine in crucial sectors such as transportation, health care, and energy. The URTF’s largest donor is Japan, with $417M.
