The World Bank has approved $723M in support for Ukraine.

The World Bank has approved $723M in loans and grants for Ukraine, which is fighting the Russian invasion, reported BBC. The package includes a $350M loan, increased by about $139M, as a result of guarantees from the Netherlands and Sweden. The aid also consists of grants of $134M from the United Kingdom, Denmark, Latvia, Lithuania, and Iceland and $100M in funding from Japan. “The World Bank Group is taking quick action to support Ukraine and its people in the face of the violence caused by the Russian invasion,” said the World Bank’s president, David Malpass.
