The West is deliberately limiting the supply of weapons to Ukraine to induce Putin to de-escalate; instead, Russia is preparing a new summer offensive.
Western countries limited the amount of weapons they provided to Ukraine to persuade Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to de-escalate the conflict, said the head of the Foreign Ministry of Lithuania, Gabrielius Landsbergis.
However, as he admitted, these tactics did not work. At the same time, he supports the idea of sending foreign troops to Ukraine and believes that such initiatives can help deliver a win over Russia.
According to the ISW, Russian invaders are likely to continue offensive actions to destabilize Ukrainian defense lines in the spring of 2024 while simultaneously preparing for projected new offensive actions in the summer of this year.
It is noted that the design and plan of the enemy offensive in the summer of 2024 is not yet clear and probably will only be revealed once the occupiers make their move. However, Russia’s military command will likely capitalize on any gains made in the coming weeks, with predictions that the armed forces could be even less prepared than in the summer.
