The US will provide Ukraine with a non-military aid package worth more than $700M and promises an “irreversible path” to NATO.

The United States is providing Ukraine with $325M to repair its electricity networks, and $290M in humanitarian aid for citizens suffering from Russian aggression, and $102M for demining, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken announced in Kyiv.

He also emphasized that the US plans to attract additional support from the G7+ countries during the Energy Coordination Group meeting in the coming weeks. Blinken reiterated that the US and other G7 countries have agreed to provide $50B secured by Russia’s frozen assets for Ukraine’s defense and reconstruction efforts.

At a press conference in Kyiv, the US Secretary of State also confirmed the irreversibility of Ukraine’s eventual membership in the North Atlantic Alliance. Blinken noted that for the first time in NATO’s history, a separate command structure has been created to help Ukraine advance on its path to membership.
