The US State Department has called China a key Russian ally in the war against Ukraine.

This statement was made by State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce, who commented on reports that the Ukrainian military had captured two Chinese citizens fighting alongside Russia. She also highlighted that approximately 80% of the dual-use products that Russia employs in the war are sourced from China. Bruce reiterated US President Trump’s position, which is that the deepening cooperation between Russia and China only increases global instability, making the US and other countries “less protected, less safe, and less prosperous.”

President Zelenskyy noted that Ukrainian military personnel engaged in combat with six Chinese military personnel in the Donetsk region, and captured two of them. The president pointed out that while the North Korean military is present in the Kursk region, Chinese forces are in Ukrainian territory.

“I believe that the United States should pay more attention to what is happening today. We expect further developments,” Zelenskyy added.
