The US special representative for Ukraine’s reconstruction discusses exports, logistics, and strengthening the economy.
Penny Pritzker arrived in Kyiv on January 12. Along with her, top managers from Bank of America, the agricultural company Archer Daniels Midland, and one of the world’s largest insurers, Marsh McLennan, arrived in the capital. As Pritzker said, the delegation’s composition will allow American business giants to see investment opportunities in Ukraine.
The American delegation met with representatives from the largest Ukrainian exporting companies. The group talked about exports and the development of logistics routes, the economic capacity of the regions affected by Russian aggression, and business support in the front-line territories.
The Americans discussed investment opportunities and the development of public-private partnerships with Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal. The parties also spoke about strengthening the Ukrainian economy, as well as its recovery and development.
With President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Pritzker discussed strengthening Ukraine’s air defense to protect cities, domestic export routes, and critical infrastructure.
