The US plans to sell NATO $10B worth of weapons for Ukraine.

US President Donald Trump announced on Monday that the US will significantly increase its weapons supplies to European allies, who will then send arms to Ukraine. The US will sell about $10B worth of weapons to NATO allies in the first wave. These supplies, ultimately intended for Ukraine, include missiles, air defense systems, and artillery shells.
This statement “a seismic political turn on the part of Trump, who initially refused to side with Ukraine and until recently insisted that he would only supply defensive weapons so as not to escalate the war”.
According to the Washington Post, Trump even wanted to send long-range Tomahawk precision-guided cruise missiles to Ukraine, which proved their effectiveness during the attack on targets in Iran last month, but decided to postpone this move in case additional leverage is needed to pressure Russian dictator Putin.
However, analysts say the $10B package is likely to also include authorization to use the 18 long-range ATACMS missiles that are currently in Ukraine at their full 300-kilometer range. This would not allow strikes on Moscow or St. Petersburg but would enable targeting of weapon depots, military bases, or airfields.
