The US is working on providing Ukraine with long-range JASSM cruise missiles for the F-16 and increasing their production.

The Biden administration is “open” to providing Ukraine with long-range cruise missiles that will give F-16 fighter jets more combat power. The readiness of the White House to provide Ukraine with air-to-surface missiles appeared because of the Armed Forces of Ukraine’s successful offensive in the Kursk region. There is no final decision yet, but the administration is working on the intricate details. An affirmative decision would deliver Ukraine JASSM missiles and the possibility to launch the cruise missiles from fighter jets for more than 300 km. Against this possible decision, the US State Department allocated $130M to increase the production of JASSM and LRASM anti-ship missiles. The funds will go to Lockheed Martin, which plans to increase its production capacity by the end of 2027. It should be noted that the Ukrainian army will receive an advanced Buffalo MPV armored engineering vehicle, which has been approved by Washington. This military vehicle manufactured by the US Army uses MRAP (Mine Resistant and Ambush Protection) technology.
