The US has removed Ukraine’s accession to NATO from the agenda; Hungary attempts to complicate European integration.

US Special Envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg has stated that Ukraine will not join NATO, and discussions on this topic have been taken off the agenda.
“NATO is not under discussion. You (Ukrainians) will not be part of NATO,” he said.
At the same time, Kellogg emphasized that there are “workarounds” for Ukraine and announced that “good results” would be achieved this week in London.
Meanwhile, the Hungarian government has urged Hungarians to oppose Ukraine’s accession to the EU in a national referendum.
“This will cost every Hungarian family hundreds of thousands of forints each year, jeopardize pensions and support for farmers, and pose risks to security and the labor market,” a letter mailed by the Hungarian government to citizens states.
Orbán’s government believes that Ukraine’s swift accession to the EU will harm the Hungarian economy.
In turn, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal pointed out that Ukraine is currently demonstrating the fastest pace toward European integration among all nations that have ever sought EU membership. Kyiv is implementing all necessary regulations and engaging in legal work with the EC.
