The US, Australia, Norway, and Canada are sending Ukraine hundreds of millions of dollars in security aid.
US President Joe Biden announced a new package of military assistance for Ukraine, which is the eighth since the signing of the supplemental appropriations act in support of Ukraine, Israel, and other US allies. According to Biden, the situation in Ukraine has changed over the past few months, with Ukraine stopping the Russian offensive in Kharkiv.
“You made it clear that Russia will not win… Ukraine will win. And we will be with you every step of the way,” Biden emphasized.
The new $225M package will include a Patriot battery, additional air defense systems, HIMARS missiles, anti-armor systems, and ammunition.
Also, Australia will provide Ukraine with its largest military aid package since the Russian invasion began, $250M, which will include guided missiles, anti-aircraft missiles, anti-tank weapons, and ammunition.
In cooperation with Germany, Norway will hand over a full IRIS-T anti-aircraft battery to Ukraine in the fall and will also direct funds to service Ukrainian air defense.
Moreover, Canada allocated over $280M to train Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighters.
