The Ukrainian military-industrial complex’s capacity increased by 500% in one year.
In 2024, the government invested over ₴39B ($1B) in weapons production, allowing for an increase in the capacity of the domestic military-industrial complex by 500%, the Cabinet of Ministers reported. Among the successes of the military-industrial complex in 2024, the government highlights the launch of a preferential lending program for defense manufacturers at an interest rate of 5%, with the state covering the rest.
Another success of the defense industry is the launch of the Zbroyari campaign to finance weapons production, through which, thanks to international partners, it was possible to attract $1B. In addition, the government called the launch of the free Iron Polygon service for weapons manufacturers a success in 2024.
UBN recalls that the country’s leadership recently announced that the plans of domestic defense enterprises include increasing existing production capacities to $30B. At the same time, President Zelenskyy instructed that at least 30,000 long-range drones and about 3,000 cruise missiles and drone missiles be produced.
