The Ukrainian government has announced the energy sector’s exit from critical condition.

There is not a single thermal or hydroelectric plant left in Ukraine that Russia has not damaged. Also, the largest nuclear power plant in Europe, the Zaporizhzhya NPP, remains occupied. Despite this, the Ukrainian energy system has emerged from a state of severe systemic damage, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said. According to Shmyhal, almost all critical infrastructure in the country has been restored: water canals, drainage systems, heat and communal energy, boiler houses, hospitals, gas distribution infrastructure, and mines. All the main high-voltage infrastructure is working, but problems persist in the regional energy distribution networks throughout the entire state. Later, he added that at the end of the week, it was possible to stabilize the power system’s operation. However, the capacity deficit remains at 20%.
