The resumption of production at the Sakhalin field in Ukraine has increased daily gas production by 1.39 million cubic meters.
On August 10, the Ukrnaftoburinnia company resumed natural gas production at the Sakhalin field (Kharkiv region) with 15 billion cubic meters of blue fuel reserves. During the day, the company extracted approximately 1.39 million cubic meters of gas, which helped to increase the total gas production in Ukraine to more than 53 million cubic meters per day.
Before stopping production in December 2023, Ukrnaftoburinnia produced approximately 1.56 million cubic meters of gas per day in this field. The production stoppage was caused by a court decision that canceled the company’s mining permit. However, on August 7, 2024, the validity of this permit was restored. This stoppage resulted in Ukraine’s gas production decreasing by 3%.
The resumption of production at the Sakhalin field will help stabilize Ukraine’s gas supply.
