The Parliament of Bulgaria supports Ukraine’s membership in NATO.
During President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s visit to Bulgaria, the People’s Assembly of Bulgaria voted for a declaration of support for Ukraine’s membership in the North Atlantic Alliance after the war’s end. The document demands that Russia completely and voluntarily withdraw from Ukraine to restore peace in Ukraine and immediately stop its nuclear blackmail and all actions contrary to the UN Charter.
The Parliament of Bulgaria also supports Ukraine’s Peace Formula, which aims to achieve a lasting and just peace and provide it with political, financial, humanitarian, military, and technical support until the full restoration of sovereignty within its internationally recognized borders.
Bulgarian parliamentarians confirmed their full support for NATO’s open door policy and expressed their expectation that their government will express support for Ukraine’s membership in NATO at the Alliance summit in Vilnius.
