The Odesa region will have a new bridge across the Danube as part of the southern transport corridor that will connect Ukraine with the EU.

A new bridge over the Danube is planned for construction in the southern part of the Odesa region, specifically in the village of Orlivka in the Izmail district. This bridge will connect to the Romanian city of Isaccea on the opposite side of the Danube. The project is included in the Strategy for the Restoration and Development of the Region for 2025-2027. This bridge will be integrated into the international route E87, linking Ukraine with Romania, Bulgaria, and Turkey.

The new bridge will reduce the distance to Isaccia by approximately 80 kilometers. The construction of the Orlivka-Isaccea bridge across the Danube River aims to become part of the extensive southern transport corridor, facilitating Ukraine’s connection with the EU through Romania.

The construction will be financed with international aid, amounting to over ₴12.6B ($30M) over three years. Upcoming tasks include design work, environmental studies, bridge construction, access road development, and establishing checkpoints and connections to international routes.
