The new car market grew by almost 50% in January.
In January 2024, about 4,400 new vehicles were sold in Ukraine, 47% more than last year, reports Ukravtoprom. At the same time, demand for new cars lags the pre-war, January 2021 figure by 24%, and the January market showed almost the same volume of sales as in 2017.
The most popular brand was Toyota – 764 cars. Compared to January 2023, the sale of new Toyotas in Ukraine increased by 31%. The second most popular brand was Renault, with 504 units. So, the French brand improved its performance last year by 160%. Third place in the ratings belongs to Volkswagen, with 476 units (+133%), and fourth is Skoda, with 312 units (+33%). Nissan rounds out the top five in January with 188 cars, 360% more than last year.
Also included in the month’s top 10 were Hyundai 177 units (+11%); Suzuki 160 (-13%); Peugeot 159 (+657%); Lexus 151 (+66%) and Mazda 149 units (+54%). The Renault Duster crossover became a bestseller in January (479 cars).
