The NB8 countries will support Ukraine, with air defense, ammunition, and investment in the Ukrainian defense industry.

After a meeting with defense ministers from the Nordic Baltic 8 (Norway, Iceland, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania), Defense Minister Rustem Umerov elaborated on these nations’ intentions to provide further assistance to Ukraine.

In particular, Sweden is preparing a substantial package of military assistance and investment initiatives in the defense sector. Ukraine’s air defense is expected to be strengthened, with deliveries anticipated this year.

Norway aims to provide one of the largest packages, totaling €7.8B, which can be allocated to enhance maritime capabilities and air defense. Additionally, Norway supports military training and is investing in Ukraine’s defense sector.

Finland is also working on a package of military assistance and ammunition.

Lithuania is concentrating on enhancing Ukraine’s air defense, investing in the defense industry, and contributing to the Czech initiative.

Latvia is committed to equipping Ukrainian units, supplying ammunition, and collaboration in the defense sector.

Estonia is preparing to supply ammunition to Ukraine. Iceland is investing in Ukraine’s defense industry, and Denmark is contemplating additional investments as well.
