The NATO Summit resulted in the adoption of the Ukrainian Compact.

This document becomes an addition to the G7 Joint Declaration agreed to a year ago at the previous Alliance summit in Vilnius. Among the 32 signatories to the treaty, 23 countries have also concluded bilateral security agreements with Ukraine.

“In the short term, we will continue to provide Ukraine with the weapons, ammunition, and training necessary to repel Russian forces. In the medium term, we will help create forces and capabilities to defend Ukraine and deter further aggression,” US President Joseph Biden commented on the document.

He clarified that in the event of a Russian attempt to attack Ukraine again after the end of the war, all countries that adopted this document will support Ukraine.

In turn, President Zelenskyy noted: “The Ukrainian agreement brings our relations to a new level. It is a significant achievement for Ukraine and all of us.”

The document establishes long-term military and defense support, the development of Ukraine’s military, and a mechanism for emergency consultations between partners in the event of an escalation of the war.
