The Ministry of Digital Transformation is initiating changes to the state budget to fund Internet coverage of Ukraine’s railways, announced Minister Mykhailo Fedorov. Currently, only 40% of Intercity train routes railways have Internet connectivity. The Ministry of Digital Transformation, together with the State Special Communications Service operators, is developing a plan to increase internet coverage to 80-90%, and higher. “Investments in towers are needed; they should be built where they were not built before to improve communication,” said Fedorov.
