The Ministry of Finance denies an additional import duty of 10%.
Chairman of the Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy Danylo Hetmantsev struck down the possibility of introducing an additional 10% import duty on non-critical imports, while the elimination of the list of critical imports is still under discussion. “During the meetings, the Ministry of Economy supported the NBU’s proposal for a 10% duty on all goods except critical imports, but this proposal was not supported during the discussions with the Prime Minister. According to Hetmantsev, the currency restriction will be lifted. Currency payments will be allowed for all goods, and the exchange rate will become floating at a later point,” said Danilo Hetmantsev. The issue of canceling the list of critical imports of services is still being discussed, reported Interfax-Ukraine.
