The Ma’Rijany Industrial Park in the Zhytomyr region plans to double its hemp processing capacity.

It aims to expand the industrial hemp crop area to 4,000 hectares, which will enable the processing of up to 20,000 tons annually. Currently, the park’s technical hemp processing capacity exceeds 10,000 tons per year. Within a 20-kilometer radius of the site, there are fields covering over 1,600 hectares. The park has sufficient space for further development of advanced industrial hemp processing.

Harvesting of a new hemp crop has already begun in the Zhytomyr region, which will be processed at the park. A new plant for producing long fiber for the textile industry has recently started operations there. Related products – such as short fiber and flax – are used for making non-woven materials like thermal and noise insulation, as well as paper, building blocks, chipboard, and bioplastics.

The park is actively encouraging farmers in Zhytomyr to sign long-term hemp supply contracts with Ukrainian buyers. Additionally, global demand for hemp fiber is increasing.
